PL HAS HELPED ME LIVE AN ENJOYABLE FULFILLED LIFE

I was fortunate enough to join PL in Ottawa, Canada in 1981, when I was 22 years old.

Even before joining PL I received blessings. My parents and sister joined PL 3 weeks prior to the delivery of my first child. My labour was progressing well for the first 12 hours and then my son became stuck in the birth canal and for 3 hours I was left screaming in pain in the third stage of labour as the doctor did his best with forceps and other procedures to free him but to no avail.

My mother and sister had come to the hospital to see how things were going and realised I was in trouble. My mother rang Reverend Ono, the minister of Ottawa PL Church at that time and they all prayed for us. Within 5 minutes of their prayers my son was born with no problems. I had been quite unaware of how dangerous the situation for my son had been.

A week later my husband and I joined PL and we attended our first PL service. Then we watched each of the PL 21 Guidelines that were explained to us on video during 21 visits to the church.

I knew immediately that this religion was for me — at last a practical, non-superstitious and really positive religion! We regularly attended church and received our Omitama and various Mioshies, which we did our best to follow.

We had a small printing business and lived in a one bedroom mobile home and at that time I had no idea we were what one would call poor or living in a low income bracket. We were both happy and felt we had everything.

Two years later we had a daughter. When she was around 6 months old she pulled a cup just filled with boiling hot water to make tea onto herself and also onto me. The tea water burnt my leg but only made it red. However, the water that spilt all over my daughter's chin, chest and leg made her delicate baby skin just peel off and she received 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns. The doctors told us that she would certainly scar.

We prayed and requested a Mioshie and did our best to follow it. As the weeks went by her skin gradually healed without any mark or scar. The doctors were simply amazed by her recovery.

Our printing business was improving and we built another room on our mobile home. Although we didn't have a lot of money, we always seemed to find bargains or people would give us things and slowly our financial situation improved.

My parents, a sister and brother had all gradually returned to Australia to live and after 10 years of living in Canada, we also returned to Australia. My parents, and I and my family came to live in Brisbane.

Then through my parents request to PL Headquarters, Reverend Ono and Mrs. Ono were given permission to come to Brisbane and start a PL church in Australia. My parents helped Reverend Ono find a beautiful 2 1/2 acre property with lovely gardens and a tropical forest and they had a unique, modern style of church built on it.

With the help of my parents we were able to purchase our own printing business. We were also able to purchase a home on 5 acres of land and each year our financial situation was improving.

One day I went to do our banking and pulled into the parking lot and I briefly noticed a man in the back of the car next to me. As I turned my car off a strong clear thought came into my mind, as clear as if someone was speaking to me. It was: "The bank is going to be robbed." I thought that's ridiculous, what a bizarre thing to think. So just in case, I decided to go to the Post Office first and then completely forgot about the whole matter.

I entered the bank and deposited my money and then I heard the rustle of a plastic bag behind me as a man demanded that everybody get down on the floor. Nobody moved — we were all in shock. I felt as if I wasn't even there. I was in a type of dream state for what seemed an eternity and then I suddenly snapped back into reality. Three clear "Oyashikiri's" came into my mind and I was immediately calm.

I watched as the robber held a large sawn-off shotgun to my teller's stomach and demanded all the money in her till. Then he jumped over the counter right beside me to rob a customer who was sitting at a desk counting out a large amount of money she had just withdrawn. He held the gun to her neck demanding she hand it over. She grudgingly gave it to him and then he was gone.

At no time did the robber look at me or make any eye contact with me, rob me or even take any kind of notice of me. Out of all the 8 people in the bank at the time I was the only person who didn't have the gun pointed at me, nor was I threatened. It was almost as if I was invisible. I fully believe I was protected by Oshieoya's great Shikiri power.

I have been a PL member for 24 years now and I am so grateful that I was lucky enough to find it. I believe it has significantly changed my life for the better and I would not like to imagine the direction my life would have taken without PL. The many times I have faced difficulty and found strength and answers through PL are too numerous to mention.

I seem to always be at the right place at the right time and meet the right people and we have now acquired 2 houses, 2 commercial properties and we are without want of anything.

With the help of PL anything is possible, if you sincerely try to change your negative mental habits, work hard, be honest in your dealings and relationships then you will surely find true happiness, enjoyment and fulfilment in your life.
