OSHIEOYA

In PL we have a spiritual leader for each era who we call a “founder” for that period. Our present Oshieoya (parent of the teachings) is the “Third Founder” of PL. This is Reverend Takahito Miki, who teaches us how to live more enjoyable lives, how to positively progress and develop, and how to live with true freedom based on the truth LIFE IS ART.

In each generation, a new Oshieoya receives God’s revelations that are relevant for that era. Through these revelations, Oshieoya teaches us the way that people can live during that era to express their true selves for their own happiness and for the happiness of others.

After the Second Founder passed away in 1983, Takahito Miki succeeded him as the third Oshieoya. He has been leading and teaching us through his sacred position as Oshieoya during this present era. He teaches us how to fit into this era and did a special oath to God to open the way so that people’s Makoto (putting their heart into their actions) can reach God. Oshieoya’s oath to God is absolute and the result is realised in this world through what we call his power of ‘Shikiri.’

Also, Oshieoya made a solemn oath to God to be responsible to teach PL members how to live their daily lives in accordance with God’s way. As our present spiritual leader, he reveals to humankind the true way to live a happy and meaningful life. This is to live in perfect liberty, following the truth of LIFE IS ART.

Oshieoya’s oath with God requires that he be responsible for all PL members before God. This is a huge responsibility this humble man has taken upon himself, but his selfless sacrifice for others is why PL’s spiritual power is so effective. For this reason, PL members have a deep abiding respect and appreciation to Oshieoya, but they do not believe he is God.

PL teaches each member who wishes to know the cause of his or her misfortune, sickness and unhappiness. PL members will learn exactly what they should do to improve themselves and their situations. For example, they may want to know why they have high blood pressure, why their son is failing in school, why their children have allergies, why they suffer from stress or anxiety and what they should do to change these situations.

Oshieoya teaches us God’s way for human beings in everyday living and by following it our lives will improve tremendously. It’s only through practicing and experiencing PL ourselves that we become familiar with the faith and feel Oshieoya’s positive Shikiri power helping us.

(The term Oshieoya is the position which continues on through each era, whereas Oshieoya-sama is the more formal term by which each Oshieoya is addressed.)
